Sanad Fund for MSME

SANAD’s mission is to finance micro, small and medium enterprises and low-income households in the Middle East and North Africa via qualified lenders. SANAD thereby fosters economic development and job creation – including youth employment, agriculture, affordable housing, and innovations in finance and financial technologies.

SANAD accomplishes its mission by leveraging its three instruments debt and equity supported by multi-facetted technical assistance to generate and maximise its impact. In addition to creating and sustaining jobs, SANAD’s impact includes the development of an entrepreneurship ecosystem, and promotion of an innovation agenda. A unique feature of SANAD is the local currency financing facility which contributes to responsible finance.

SANAD was initiated by KfW Development Bank as a public-private partnership. Funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the European Union, KfW, Switzerland›s State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), and the Austrian Development Bank (OeEB), the Dutch Development Bank (FMO), and GLS Bank. The Fund is open to development finance and international financial institutions as well as private investors.
